NOTE: As of May 30, 2024, the Sales Analytics report includes unique event counts (specifically Unique Hops and Unique Order Form Impressions). Conversion rates are now calculated using this new data, rather than raw event counts. Updates to our documentation is underway. General Questions
What’s the overall change to Sales Analytics as of August 24, 2022?
A: On August 24, 2022, Sales Analytics Reporting was duplicated in the primary account. It is still accessible in from the nickname account. Improvements were made to both reports.
What is changing about the feature?
A: There are a few new additions to the sales analytics feature, including:
- New seller/affiliate toggle
- Account picker
- New table navigation views
- The “Group By” secondary selector
Can I still view Sales Analytics in my nickname account?
A: Yes. Both account levels include Sales Analytics.
How do I provide clerk users access to reports?
A: From your primary account:
>Users > Manage Permissions > Enable "User Activity Report Access"
Then select the "Sales Report Access" permission for the applicable account nicknames.
Data and View Questions
What is the difference between Traffic, Checkout, and Earnings views?
A: Each view represents different points in the traffic and conversion funnel and the data we have available at each stage of that journey, from Hop to checkout, to post-purchase.
Each view contains different metrics, which can be grouped by different data points, based on the data we have available at that time in the purchase flow.
- The Traffic view is intended to show Hop- and traffic-level data.
- The Checkout view contains order form checkout data,
- The Earnings view contains sales-related data including rebills, refunds, chargeback, and net earnings.
Have any of the column names included in the new Sales Analytics changed?
A: Yes. The term "Sale Amount” used at the nickname account level was used to describe the amount earned by the nickname account. This term has been relabeled “Sale Earnings” to more accurately describe the data depicted.
This applies to the following fields in your nickname account: initial sales amount, rebill sale amount, upsell amount, and gross sale amount. See below for the updated field names.

Is any of the underlying data changing? What data is new or has changed?
A: There are a few data updates, including:
- New metrics provided:
- Total Sale Earnings = initial sale earnings + upsell earnings
- Affiliate Earnings (applicable for seller view) = affiliate earnings for initial sales + upsell purchases
- Affiliate EPC (applicable for seller view) = (affiliate earnings for initial sales + upsell purchases) / Hops
- Upsell Impressions
- Hop Conversion Rate = initial sales / Hops
- Modified EPC calculation to use “Total Sale Earnings
- FROM: EPC=(initial sale earnings + upsell earnings + rebill earnings) / Hops
- TO: EPC=(Initial sale earnings + upsell earnings) / Hops
- Some columns were omitted including:
- All Order Form Impressions
- Initial Earnings Per Hop
- Hops Per Order
- Hops Per Order Form Impression
- % of Sales (refunded or charged back)
What if I notice a discrepancy in the data?
A: If you notice data discrepancies, you should contact Support or your account manager.
What is the refresh rate on the data?
A: The data accessible in Sales Analytics reporting is real-time.
How much data is included in the Sales Analytics reporting?
A: You can access realtime data up to the last 2 years (rolling retention window) of data in Sales Analytics reporting. Note data accessible at time of launch: December 1st, 2021, through today.
Are the reports available to both sellers and affiliates?
A: Yes, Sales Analytics is available to both sellers and affiliates.
Can traffic be broken down by TID within the Traffic report?
A: Yes, using sales analytics as an affiliate, TID can be configured as the primary or secondary group by option.
Is all earnings data gross?
A: Earnings data reflects the amount payable to you, post fees, taxes, affiliate and JV contract payouts. In summary:
- Total Sale Earnings = initial sale earnings + upsell earnings
- Gross Earnings = initial sale earnings + upsell earnings + rebill earnings
- Net Earnings = initial sale earnings + upsell earnings + rebill earnings - chargeback debits - refund debits
Does Sales Analytics include a gross revenue (total sale) column?
A: No, similar to the WAM Analytics at the nickname account level, Sales Analytics in your primary account does not include a gross revenue amount indicative of the sale amount paid by the user.
Is rebill data included in any of the Sales Analytics reporting?
A: Yes, rebill earnings can be viewed in the Earnings view in Sales Analytics.
Are test transactions included in any of the Sales Analytics reporting?
A: No, test transactions are not included in Sales Analytics. Test transactions can be viewed in the Transactions report in your nickname account or via reporting in your primary account.
Can I view my earnings from JV contracts in Sales Analytics reporting?
A: No, your account earnings as a JV seller or JV affiliate are not included in Sales Analytics.
Do my earnings (and affiliate earnings) in Sales Analytics reporting reflect my earnings pre or post JV-split?
A: The Earnings view shows the amount owed to you post JV-Split processing.
In the prior version of analytics, if a CPA was a negative value, it was being reported incorrectly. Has that since been resolved?
A: Yes, beginning July 1st, 2022, negative CPA values are accurately reflected in earnings and subsequent calculations.
How are chargebacks and refunds reflected in Sales Analytics?
A: As of May 25, 2023, users can view refund and chargeback data in Sales Analytics two separate ways by using the Refund/Chargeback Reported Date setting.
The former default setting for the data reporting was by original sale date. Now, the default behavior has changed. Data will be reported by the date of the refund or chargeback. However, users can change this setting to view one data set or the other.
Selecting Original Sales Date will show refund and chargeback data based on the original sales date. This means that refunds and chargeback data will reflect the date of the original purchase event (including initial and upsell). This setting is useful for sellers to draw retroactive insights about success of particular campaigns.
Selecting Date of Event will show the refund and chargeback data based on the event of the refund or chargeback, not by the date of the original purchase event. This setting can help sellers understand what their current cashflow state might look like based on revenue and refund amounts.
Why is Gross Earnings in the primary account dashboard different from the gross earnings in the API?
A: To avoid disruption to API users, we did not update the gross earnings field to include rebill earnings, as we did in the Analytics reporting interface. Rebill earnings are available in the API and accessible to clients.
