Configure a Purchase Option
A purchase option defines how a product is sold in a funnel: which product or variants are included, the quantity, price, shipping, and—if applicable—subscription terms and discount display.
A purchase option can sell one product, multiple units of a product, or a bundle of different variants. It is separate from the product record in the Product Catalog, which describes the product itself.
Before you begin
Add the products and variants you plan to sell to the Product Catalog.
Create a funnel and set its currency and shipping regions.
Have product images, prices, and shipping rates ready.
Set up any category-specific product compliance documents in the Product Catalog.
Compliance: Products and funnels go through compliance review at different points. A product must be approved to be shown to customers. If a paylink contains both approved and unapproved purchase options, customers see only the approved options. See Understanding Compliance Approval for the full process.
Open Purchase Options
Go to Vendor Settings → Offer Studio → Funnels.
Open the funnel you want to edit.
In the Funnel Builder, find Purchase Options.
Select Add Purchase Option, or duplicate an existing option to use its settings as a starting point.
Tip: Duplicating can be useful when creating similar bundles, subscriptions, or discount variations. Review and update every relevant field in the copy before saving.
Configure a basic, one-time purchase
Enter the purchase option’s name and description.
Select a cover image.
Add the product variant or variants to include.
Set the quantity for each included variant.
Leave Recurring off for a one-time purchase.
Set the price for the complete purchase option.
Enter a shipping rate for each region selected in Funnel Settings.
Review the commission setting. The default affiliate commission applies unless you turn it off and enter a different rate.
Review the refund policy, customer return instructions, and billing descriptor. The video shows these using account defaults, with options to enter custom settings.
Save the purchase option.
Pricing tip: The price is for the entire purchase option, not the price of one individual unit. In the tutorial, a four-bottle option is priced as a complete 4-pack.
Create a bundle
Use a bundle when one purchase option includes multiple products or variants. For example, the video demonstrates a protein powder bundle with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry variants.
Add a new purchase option or duplicate a similar one.
Enter the bundle’s name, description, and image.
Add each product variant to include.
Set the quantity for each variant.
Enter the total price for the entire bundle.
Add shipping rates for each applicable region for each variant included in the bundle.
Review the commission and account-default settings.
Save the option.
Create a recurring subscription
Use recurring settings for a subscription or another product that rebills.
Add a purchase option.
Set Recurring to Yes.
Configure the subscription terms shown in the form:
Subscription duration
Trial period, if applicable
Billing frequency
Rebill notification days
Enter the introductory price and recurring price.
Set the initial and recurring affiliate commission rates.
Review shipping settings, if the subscription includes a physical product.
Save the option.
Note: The video summary does not capture the exact choices available for duration, trial, frequency, or rebill notification. Check the current form for the options available to your account.
Tip: For a recurring physical product, the video demonstrates selecting the product variant first; this automatically fills the option name and image. Configure separate initial and recurring shipping rates for each region.
Configure a discount display
To show a discount on a purchase option:
Add or duplicate a purchase option.
Open its display or discount settings.
Choose the available discount presentation, such as:
Percentage off
Dollars off
Strikethrough pricing
For strikethrough pricing, enter the original price as the strikethrough price and the sale price as the current price.
Save the option and review how it appears in the paylink or order form.
Save and use the purchase option
After saving, the option appears in the funnel’s Purchase Options list. You can select it when configuring a paylink. A purchase option can also be included in an order bump or upsell, where that feature supports it.
Compliance and customer visibility
A saved purchase option is not necessarily approved for customers. Submit the product and funnel for compliance review as required, and check their statuses in Offer Studio. A paylink may still work when some options are pending or unapproved, but customers see only the approved options included in it. If you change an approved item, check whether that change requires resubmission.
Quick checklist
Before saving, verify:
The correct product variant or bundle contents are selected.
Each variant has the intended quantity.
The price applies to the full purchase option.
Shipping is configured for every selected region—and for each included variant where required.
Recurring terms and initial/recurring values are correct, if applicable.
Discount display settings are correct, if applicable.
The option’s compliance status is suitable for the customer experience you intend to launch.
