Understanding Compliance Approval
ClickBank's compliance team reviews your products and funnels before customers can buy them. Review happens at several points while you build an offer, not in one step at the end.
What gets reviewed
Item | Submitted from | What reviewers check | Status you'll see |
Products | Product Details panel in the Product Catalog | Category-specific documents (such as an FDA label), cost of goods, and the Certificate of Insurance | Draft, Pending Approval, Action Required, Approved |
Funnels | Bottom of the Funnel Builder | Funnel settings, purchase options, and pitch pages. Order bumps and upsell flows are included when present. | Draft, Pending Review, Active |
Each product must be submitted on its own, and the funnel is submitted separately. Approving a product doesn't approve the funnel.
Submit a Funnel for Compliance Review
Funnel components must be approved before customers can use them. Submit your funnel once the parts are in place.
What's required to submit
You only need:
Basic funnel settings
At least one purchase option
Order bumps and upsell flows are optional. A complete funnel can be a single purchase option with a pitch page.
Note: The video also mentions a pitch page in this context. The Basic Funnel video lists a pitch page as part of the minimum setup. Confirm whether it's strictly required to submit.
Draft status
Until approval, everything in your funnel shows as Draft, including purchase options, pitch pages, order bump groups, and upsell flows. You can still start building a paylink, but previews won't load fully until the objects are approved.
Submit for review
Go to Offer Studio → Funnels.
Click the three-dot menu for your funnel and select Edit.
Scroll to the bottom of the Funnel Builder.
Click Submit for Review.
You'll return to Offer Studio, and the funnel shows Pending Review.
Track the review
In Offer Studio, open the funnel's three-dot menu.
Select See Compliance Review.
Review the ticket status. The ClickBank compliance team may message you with changes or additional information needed.
Reply in the ticket to work toward approval.
What to do next
Once the funnel is approved and shows Active, you can build a paylink with full preview and live checkout. See Build and Configure a Paylink.
Only approved items are visible to customers
A paylink can be used even if some of its parts aren't approved. Customers see only the approved parts.
For example, suppose a paylink includes four purchase options and two are approved. The paylink works, and the order form shows only those two.
This applies to the other funnel components too. Check each one's status before sending traffic. A paylink that is live but missing items may be showing customers less than you intended.
When you need to resubmit
Some changes require resubmission to compliance.
Compliance review ticket
Every submission creates a compliance ticket.
In Offer Studio, open the item's three-dot menu.
Select See Compliance Review.
Read the ticket status and any requests from the compliance team.
Reply in the ticket. This is where you send additional documents or information.
If something is missing, the status changes to Action Required, and you'll work through the ticket until it's resolved.
Documents
Required documents depend on the product category. For example, Food & Beverages requires an FDA label, while Backpacks need no compliance documents.
Some requirements apply per variant (such as the FDA label). Others apply per product (such as the Certificate of Insurance).
A missing required document blocks submission.
You can submit without a Certificate of Insurance and add it later through the ticket. The compliance team may already have one on file.
Recommended Workflow
Add products and submit them for review. You can start building the funnel while they're pending.
Build the funnel and submit it for review.
Watch the status of each item in Offer Studio, and respond to any Action Required tickets.
Once your key items are approved, open the paylink in a browser and test it as a customer would.
Resubmit if you change an item that requires it.
