Overview
ClickBank Sellers have the option to enable SMS confirmations for order events such as purchase and shipping notification.
NOTE: These SMS messages are uncustomizable and are an admin enabled feature. They are only sent to customers with a US-based mobile phone number and are not sent for purchases made with PayPal. Additionally, this feature is only compatible with the new order form.

SMS Messaging on ClickBank: What is it?
SMS messaging on ClickBank is an admin-enabled feature. All SMS messages sent by ClickBank are templated, complaint with all communication laws, and uncustomizable to provide a branded, consistent experience for customers.
The opt-in process that occurs on order forms that display the phone number field ensures that SMS messages only go where they should go. There is no charge to customers receiving SMS messages. Customers can opt out of and end messaging service simply by replying to a automated SMS message with "STOP."
SMS messaging for ClickBank sellers occurs for two distinct order form events:
- Purchase
- Shipping
SMS messaging DOES NOT occur for subscription-related events.
Why should ClickBank Sellers Utilize SMS messaging?
According to a 2024 report conducted by FinanceOnline, 48% of consumers prefer to receive order notifications through SMS.
Sixty-six percent of consumers mention that shipment tracking and/or order notifications are leading motivators forSMS opt-in. Transaction SMS messages have a 98% open rate, an impressive percentage compared to their email counterpart which has a 20% open rate.
Who can use this feature?
This feature is available for all sellers who opt to display the phone number field on their order form. The phone number field is paired with an SMS opt-in box. If a customer opts in to receive SMS alerts about their order, they will be notified when they purchase the product and when the product ships.
Sellers must reach to compliance@clickbank.com to have the phone number field feature enabled for their account. Then, the phone number must be toggled on at the product level by editing the product and then locating the Pitch Page & Thank You Page section. The SMS checkbox is paired with the phone number field.
Messaging Redundancy
In some instances, if a sellers is using a third party to send SMS messages for order confirmation events, sellers that are automatically enrolled in ClickBank SMS messages may send redundant order and shipping confirmations to their customers. If you are a ClickBank Seller offering physical products who is automatically enabled for SMS messages and wish to opt out, please reach out to compliance@clickbank.com or to your account manager.
Sellers Offering Digital Products
Sellers who are offering digital products only must reach to compliance@clickbank.com to have this feature enabled for their account. Then, the feature must be toggled on at the product level by editing the product and then locating the Pitch Page & Thank You Page section.

How does SMS messaging work?
If a seller is displaying the mobile phone number field and opt-in box on the order form and the customer opts in to receive SMS messages regarding their order and shipping, ClickBank will send automated messages when the customer has purchased a product and when that product has shipped (if applicable).

How to Start Using SMS
DIGITAL SELLERS PLEASE NOTE: The addition of the phone number field and opt-in box to your order form is an admin-controlled feature. Please reach out compliance@clickbank.com or your account manager to enable this feature on your order form. Additionally, this feature is only available on the new order form.

Sellers who have enabled the phone number and customer opt-in box on their order form will automatically be enabled for this feature. However, it must be turned on for each product. Follow these instructions to turn on SMS messaging at the product level.
Step 1: Log in to your ClickBank account.
Step 2: Select the account nickname that houses the product you want to turn SMS messaging on for.
Step 3: Go to Vendor Settings, then My Products.
Step 4: Find the product you want to enable this feature for and click the vertical three dot icon. Then select Edit.
Step 4: Locate the Pitch Page & Thank You Page section and toggle on the Display a Phone Number Field toggle. This will enable the phone number to display for this product.
NOTE: This toggle will be frozen and not functional if you have not reached out to have this feature enabled my an administrator.
