Coupons

You can create coupon codes that give your customers a percentage discount on specific products.

The following subjects are covered in this article:

Overview

You can use the Coupons section to create coupons for your products. These coupons can be valid for one or more products, and can provide a discount between 1 and 80%. You can select the methods by which the coupon can be used – you can pass it as part of the Payment Link, or users can enter it on the order form.

You can enable or disable your coupons at any time, so you can set up coupons for temporary sales, or provide specific customers with added incentives.

If you select Show Always, your coupons can be entered on the order form by the customer. You can also pass the coupon as a parameter using your Payment Link.

  5. Check or uncheck the Active checkbox.

    A confirmation window is displayed.

Using Coupons

Coupons can be used in one of two ways: The customer can manually enter them on the order form, or you can pass them with the payment link.

Customer Entry

Customers can manually enter a coupon code once they reach the order form, then click Apply to apply the coupon to their order. The coupon field is on the right side of the order form, beneath any Order Bump products. For example:

This image shows a ClickBank order form. The left side of the page contains payment information. The right side contains order bump orders, a coupon field, and an Apply button.

Passing Coupons With the Payment Link

You can also pass coupon codes with the payment link as a parameter. When a customer follows this payment link, the order form is displayed with the coupon automatically applied. If you pass a coupon code with the payment link, the coupon code entry field is not displayed.

To pass a coupon code with the payment link, you use the coupon parameter, and set it equal to the relevant coupon code. For example:

http://product.vendor.pay.clickbank.net/?coupon=20off

If the specified coupon code is not valid, the order form displays an error message.

Once you have added a coupon code to your payment link, you should test the payment link to verify that it is working correctly. See the Creating a Payment Link article for more information on formatting and testing payment links.

Compatibility With Other Features

Editable Quantity on the Order Form

Coupons can be used with editable quantity items.

For transactions involving an editable quantity of one product, the coupon is applied linearly and to each item purchased within the quantity specified.

When you create the coupon, you decide whether it applies to all items in a cart order, or only to the highest subtotal. In either case, the discount is applied to each item, taking into account the quantity.

For example, if a 50% off coupon is applied to a purchase of two copies of a $10 product, the discount will be $10 total (50% off each of the two items purchased).

See the Editable Quantity on the Order Form article for more information about this feature.

Cart

Coupons work with Cart.

See the Cart: ClickBank's Multi-Line Transaction Platform article for more information about this feature.

Recurring Billing Products

Customers can apply coupons to the purchase of a recurring billing product. The discount is applied to the initial purchase amount, but is not applied to rebills.

See the Recurring Billing, Subscription, & Membership Products article for more information about recurring billing products.

Transactions Reporting

The search results in transaction reporting include information about the coupon codes used.

See the Transactions Reporting article for more information about this feature.
