Overview
Subscription Reporting on ClickBank is reporting that is available for ClickBank Sellers who have a recurring product element of their offer.
It is available in the primary account and from inside the account nickname interface.

Sellers can access up to two years worth of subscription reporting data in seven unique reporting tables.
Using subscription reporting data can help sellers better understand trends, offer performance, and customer preferences. This information empowers sellers to optimize their ad spend, products, and offers.

NOTE: Previous versions of the Subscription Report were accessible to affiliates. This current version is only accessible to sellers with a recurring product.

How to Access Subscription Reporting from Your Primary Account
Step 1: Log in to your ClickBank account using your email username.
Step 2: On the left vertical menu click Reporting to access the Reporting Dashboard.
Step 3: From the reports menu, you can select the subscription report you wish to view. For more information on how each of the subscription reports work check out the How to View and Use Each Subscription Report section.
How to Access Subscription Reporting from Your Account Nickname
Step 1: Log in to your ClickBank account.
Step 2: From the left vertical menu, select Accounts. Then, click the account nickname you went to work in.
Step 3: Once you are in the account nickname, click Reporting, then select Subscriptions. For more information on how each of the subscription reports work check out the How to View and Use Each Subscription Report section.
Subscription Reporting Data: What’s Included?
Subscription Reporting on ClickBank contains a full suite of reports that harness the power of over 20 separate data fields. These fields include:
- Affiliate Return Amount
- Billing Failure
NOTE: Billing failure data comes from card validation failure, authorization failure, or when a customer cancels a recurring payment from their payment processor such as their bank. - Billing Frequency
- Canceled Date
- Completed Date
- Customer City
- Customer Country
- Customer Email Address
- Customer First Name
- Customer Full Name

Billing Failure Statuses Provided in Subscription Reporting
Data regarding billing failure is available via Subscription Reporting for sellers. The following statuses are provided:

Request New Card: This status indicates a card validation failure. It's recommended to request a new payment method or card number from the customer.

Payment Irreversibly Denied: This status indicates the subscription was cancelled due to an authentication error from the payment processor with a message to not attempt to retry the payment as its no longer valid. It's recommended to request a new payment method or card number from the customer.

Retry Payment: This status indicates an authorization failure.

Canceled at Processor: This status indicates the customer cancelled the recurring payment from their payment processor.
Use Cases for Subscription Reporting Data
ClickBank Sellers may harness the power of Subscription Reporting data in many ways that are unique to their business.
Most of these use cases rely on the data fields that are included in the Subscription Detail Report. However, the other reports provide deeper insights into trends. The following are some of the common ways sellers can use their data to grow and optimize their business:

Welcome Emails
Subscription Reporting data can be used to create a “Welcome Email” for new customers. With the Customer Email Address field and Customer Full Name field, sellers can automate an email to be sent that can include additional resources, sales and promotions, branded content, coupon codes, etc.
Ongoing Content & Informative Emails
With the Customer Email Address field and Customer Full Name fields, sellers can automate promotional emails, newsletters, and product information to be sent directly to already established customers.
Retarget or Reconnect for Feedback
A combination of the Customer Email Address, Customer Full Name, Billing Failure, Canceled Date, and/or Completed Date fields allows sellers to attempt to re-establish customers with lapsed subscriptions or get feedback on why they canceled their subscription.
Renewal Communication
Sellers can remind their subscribers to renew their subscription using the Customer Email Address, Customer Full Name, and Completed Date fields. This communication can include additional product promotions and upgrade opportunities.
Analyze Subscription Sales Trends
Subscription Reporting on ClickBank includes over 20 unique data fields. With third party integrations, Sellers can analyze complex sales cycles and buying trends to optimize their ad spend.
Ship Physical Subscription Products
With the Physical Good Flag field, ClickBank Sellers can easily filter to specific subscriptions that include physical products. This data would be useful for predicting how many active subscriptions include physical products and ensuring that you have the anticipated inventory.
Start Digital Subscription Services
Sellers can use the Start Date or Trial Date fields to allow new subscribers access to the digital product that they have subscribed to.
Analyze Offer Performance
Sellers can use a combination of fields to analyze multiple aspects of their offer performance including specific events, marketing efforts, trial offers, content, etc.
Analyze Expected Cash Flow
With the Billing Frequency, Original Purchase Date, End of Service Date, Initial Seller Sale Amount, Return Amount, and other data fields, Sellers can analyze and predict their expected cash flow based on current subscription trends. This can help sellers make cash-flow related decisions with more data.
Analyze Acquisition Strategy
Sellers can Trial End Date, Canceled Date, Initial Affiliate Sale Amount, and other date fields to inform their acquisition strategy. For example, when sellers can better identify their affiliate and media buying costs, they can better understand the lifetime value of customers throughout the subscription cycle. The data fields available to sellers through Subscription Reporting allows them to identify how many active subscriptions at a time they may need to become profitable.
Customer Support
With customer data including Customer Full Name, and Customer Email Address, sellers can better provide operational customer support.
Marketing Compliance
Subscription Reporting provides sellers the Declined Marketing data field which informs them of which customers may be excluded and included in retargeting or additional marketing campaigns.
Re-Engage With Subscription Experiencing Billing Failure
The Billing Failure and Customer Email Address data fields allow sellers to reach out to customers who may be experiencing billing failure and re-engage them in order to avoid customer churn.
How to View and Use Each Subscription Reporting Section
Subscription Reporting on ClickBank includes 7 unique reporting tables and over 20 unique data fields. These fields are used between the tables and each provide insight into the performance of your offers and recurring product elements.
Days to Cancellation
The Days to Cancellation report shows cancellation trends for the selected time period. Sellers can select to view data for all accounts and can view the cancellation trend for a specific day or for the past 90 days.
Activity Report
The Subscription Activity Data table displays the aggregated trend data for seller subscription activity. See Use Cases for more ways ClickBank Sellers can utilize over 20 data fields in the Subscription Activity Report.
Stick Rate
The Subscription Stick Rate table shows Sellers the average length of a subscription. There are two ways to view the stick rate: one way is based on the active subscriptions and the other is based on subscriptions that were canceled in the selected month.
When viewing the Active Subscriptions, the ideal scenario for sellers is for this number to increase. Additionally, when viewing the Subscription Cancelation Stick view, sellers want to see this increase month over month.
Churn Rate
Churn is a measure of customer loss or attrition. This metric looks at how many customers choose to not renew their subscriptions in a given month. It is helpful for sellers to look at churn month over month to see if offer improvements are helping reduce churn.
Trial to Paid
The Trial to Paid Rate report displays the percent of trials that converted to a subscription in a given month over a 13 month look-back with a nod to overall subscription volume.
Recurring Revenue
The Recurring Revenue report displays the average revenue obtained from subscription products in a given month. The display includes a 13 month month-to-month comparison.
Revenue Per User
The Revenue Per User report shows the average revenue per user from subscription products in a given month. The display includes a 13 month month-to-month comparison.
Customizing Your Subscription Detail Report
The Subscription Detail report has several functionalities that allow ClickBank Sellers to optimize their data view. These include:
- The ability to hide and show data fields
- The ability to apply multiple filters to drill down subscription data
- A “Group By” functionality allowing sellers to analyze data segments by groups
- The ability to pin fields to the left of right side of the table
- A “Sort Order” functionality applicable to any field in the table
- The ability to aggregate certain values to quickly understand totals, averages, minimums, and maximums
To utilize these tools, first access subscription reporting at the primary account level or from within your account nickname.
Hide and Show Data Fields
To hide and show data fields on the Subscription Activity table, click the Edit icon (the one shaped like a pencil) and select the data fields you want to hide or show using the toggle.
Drill Down
Sellers can drill down and search for specific sets of data by using the Drill Down function. This can be helpful for identifying a specific order.
Step 1: Click the Filter icon and then select the data field you want to drill into from the Columns dropdown menu.
Step 2: Select the operator term you want to use from the Operator dropdown menu. Operator terms include:
- Contains
- Equals
- Starts with
- Ends with
- Is empty
- Is not empty
- Is any of
Step 3: Enter the value you want to search for in the Value field.
Group By
Sellers can group by data fields to separate data for deeper insights. To do so, click the three-dot icon next to the column header you want to group by and select Group by….
Your data will be grouped by the available data categories for that specific field.
Pin Fields
Sellers can pin fields to optimize data viewing. To do so, click the three-dot icon next to the data field column header you want to pin and select Pin to left or Pin to right.
Sort Order
Sellers can also sort each column in ascending or descending order. Click the three-dot icon next to the data field column header you want to sort by. Alternatively, you can click the arrow next to the column header to sort as well.
Aggregate Values
Sellers can aggregate applicable data fields by: sum, minimum (min), maximum (max), average (avg), or size. To do so, click the three-dot icon next to the data field column header you want to aggregate and choose the aggregation you want to apply.

Downloading a Subscription Report
Step 1: Log in to your ClickBank account.
Step 2: Either access your subscription reporting through your primary account or through your account nickname interface.
Step 3: Locate and click the Download icon on any of the subscription reports.
Step 4: Save the file in your preferred format.
NOTE: On the Subscription Detail report, table customizations will be included in the downloaded report.
Subscription Reporting FAQ
Why did Subscription Reporting change in 2022?
In 2022 the ClickBank team decided to update the Subscription Reporting feature because the data that was being used for the previous subscription reporting iteration did not align with the client needs for analyzing and understanding recurring products and subscriptions. In the old version, calculations were made with data that was prone to errors. Now, the new data source is more accurate and the attributes are properly assigned and categorized to best serve ClickBank Clients.
