Overview
Signing up for a ClickBank account is free. However, there are a few different fees that ClickBank Clients must pay to use the ClickBank platform.
Activation Charge Fee
There is a one-time activation fee of $49.95 that must be paid when a ClickBank Seller's first product is approved. If your product is not approved, you are not responsible for the fee.
Pay Period Processing Fee
ClickBank does not charge a monthly fee to its clients. However, there is a $5.00 pay period processing fee for every payment that is issued to clients. If you want to receive fewer payments from ClickBank to lower your total fees, you can adjust your payment threshold (the amount of money that must be in your account before ClickBank issues a payment). ClickBank Wholesale Pricing
Every time a product is sold through ClickBank, ClickBank purchases the product from the seller at 92.5% of sale price + $1. This means that ClickBank keeps 7.5% + $1 of the purchase funds. Note: ClickBank fee rate for transactions made with PayPal is 5.0%.
Here's an example:
Your product is for sale at $100.
Every time one of your products sell, ClickBank buys the product from you for $91.50 (92.5% of $100 minus $1).
At this point in the sale you have earned $91.50.
You have chosen to pay a 50% commission, so $45.75 (50% of $91.50) of this sale goes to the affiliate.
Your total earning for the sale is $45.75.
The percentage of the purchasing amount that ClickBank keeps is based on the total cost to the customer, including shipping, state and/or sales tax, or VAT/GST where applicable.
Wholesale Pricing for Rebills for a Subscription
There is a separate calculation for determining the purchasing amount that ClickBank keeps for the recurring payments associated with subscriptions. For rebills with a price less than $40, ClickBank purchases the rebills for the subscription from the seller at a wholesale price equal to 90.1% of retail. Wholesale Pricing for Free and $1 Trials
The wholesale price for a free trial of a product on ClickBank is $0.50. If a ClickBank Seller offers a trial of a product for $1.00, the wholesale price is $1.00.
Other Charges
There are also payout deductions for refunds and revoked sales and fees for dormant accounts. As part of our commitment to quality customer service, ClickBank may approve a return of a sale in response to a customer dispute. When a sale is returned, the customer receives a 100% refund, and payouts from that sale are debited back out of the corresponding seller and affiliate accounts. In addition, we charge a fee of either $0.50 or $1 for most refunds, depending on the product price and the return date. See the Refunds & Chargebacks article for more information.
A purchase is revoked if the customer's bank later claims the purchase was unfunded or fraudulent. This is also referred to as a chargeback. Revoked sales cost us money and harm our reputation as a reliable product retailer. In these instances, we penalize the seller per credit card chargeback. In addition, ClickBank reserves the right to de-list any product or group of products at any time. See the Refunds & Chargebacks article for more information.
Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a fee as described in the Dormant Accounts article.
USD Exchange Rate
If a seller sells a Product in a currency other than U.S. dollars, an exchange rate is used to convert the purchase amount to U.S. dollars. For more information, see the Currencies section of our Accounting Policy.
