Learn more about recent PayPal updates on ClickBank

Updated this week

Overview

As of January 2nd, all new PayPal orders will once again be processed through ClickBank's PayPal account, rather than your own PayPal account.

This means that:

  • PayPal is available once more as a default customer payment method across all order forms, no setup or enablement required.

  • New PayPal purchases will be processed through ClickBank’s PayPal account, with ClickBank as the merchant of record.

  • Going forward, ClickBank will pay your portion of new customer PayPal orders, like any other payment method, as part of our standard payout process.

  • PayPal will appear on the order form even in the presence of JV contracts, CPA commissions, and high-commission RevShare offers.

Next Steps

If you are currently using PayPal, there is no action required. Transactions will be automatically routed through ClickBank's PayPal account.

Subscriptions

If you are a seller that has offered subscription products and are processing rebills through our current PayPal setup, we encourage you to keep your PayPal Commerce account connected in order to retain those subscriptions.

If you disconnect your PayPal Commerce account, those subscriptions will be canceled once a rebill attempt is made.

Reporting

PayPal Commerce transactions will appear as PAYPAL COMMERCE in your transactions-related reporting. Transactions processed through ClickBank's PayPal will appear as PYPL.

This change will not cause any data discrepancy. All of the data will be present in a seller's transaction report, however, keep in mind the different codes for the different PayPal methods.
