ClickBank has effective and highly developed fraud protection in place to defend our users from criminal fraud. However, criminal fraud can get incredibly sophisticated, which is why ClickBank does not include criminal fraud in the fraud rate calculation that our users are held accountable for. Criminal fraud includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Account Takeover
Account takeover happens when an account is hacked into with the purpose of accessing vital information that can be used without the knowledge of the account owner.
- Stolen Card Rings
This occurs when criminals test stolen credit cards to look for cards with high credit limits.
- Physical Reseller Rings
This occurs when physical products are purchased and resold through other networks.
- Synthetic Card Testing
Synthetic card testing is the process of looking for valid card information using various algorithms.
- Bot Fraud
Bot fraud occurs when bots are used to scrape sites and gather data illicitly.
