Overview
The Countdown Timer feature is a feature that is compatible with the Default Order Form, the Basic Custom Order Form, or the Advanced Custom Order Form. The feature is used to create a sense of urgency around a product and drive customers to take advantage of a sensitive offer. ClickBank Sellers are able to customize the timer, however the offer that the timer applies to must be a legitimate, truthfully time sensitive offer.
Note: The Countdown Timer feature is an admin-enabled feature. To implement a countdown timer, please contact ClickBank.
Creating a Countdown Timer
Once you have contacted ClickBank and the Countdown Timer feature has been enabled in your account, follow the steps below to create a countdown timer for your offer.
Step 1: Log in to your ClickBank account.
Step 2: Click the Vendor Settings tab.
Step 3: Click My Order Form.
Step 4: Click the Countdown Timers tab.
Step 5: Click Add New Template.
Step 6: Customize your countdown timer.
Clicking the Add New Template button will open the Countdown Timer Template Editor. Customize the countdown timer to match the look and feel of your order form.
You can customize the following elements of the countdown timer.
Name: The name you select for this countdown timer will be displayed in your list of saved timers. This name will not be visible on the timer.
Type: You can select from a static timer or a dynamic timer. A static timer allows you to set an expiration date in the future. All timers in this mode must be set relative to Mountain Standard Time. Or, you can choose a dynamic timer. This allows you to set a fixed amount of time for the user to take advantage of the offer before it expires (i.e. 20 minutes, 1 hour, etc.).
Expiration Action: This is the event that occurs when the timer expires before the customer completes the order. You can select Not Available or New Payment Link. The Not Available action will render the payment button inactive and the customer will not be able to complete their order. The New Payment Link action will direct the user to a new paylink that can be built directly within the Countdown Timer Template Editor.
Here, you add additional parameters to your payment link such as: product number, Upsell Flow, coupon, order form skin, and exit offer. For example, if you want to new payment link to direct to a custom order form that you have previously created, click on Select Skin. Note: If you do not select a skin, the new payment link will default to the default order form. In the VTID field, you can add a vendor tracking ID to your payment link. If you wish to add any custom parameters outside of the preselect options, check the Add Custom Parameters box.
Position: This setting controls the position of the timer on the order form. You can choose from two options: Header or Payment. The Header option places the countdown timer at the top of the page. The Payment option places the time directly above the payment button.
Background Color: This setting allows you to change to background color of the countdown timer to match the look and feel of your order form.
Block Color: This setting allows you to change the color of the countdown blocks or to provide a tailored and branded look and feel to your timer.
Time Color: This setting allows you to change the numbers within the timer to provide a tailored and branded look and feel to your timer.
Custom Text: Use this section to create a call to action or describe your offer. This text will be visible to the customer, within the timer block, when viewing the order form.
Step 7: Click Save.
Using the Countdown Timer Feature
To apply a countdown timer to your order form, locate the countdown timer you wish to implement in your list of countdown timer templates. Copy the URL parameter from the URL Parameter column. Add this parameter to the end of your payment link.
The format is:
https://VENDORNICKNAME.pay.clickbank.net/?cbitems=ITEM&cbtimer=X
Once this is added to your payment link, it will appear on the order form.
