Hi Owen, thanks for the info! I have just signed up for a Click Bank account and used my social security number but I also have a side business, creating graphics with an EIN number. I didn't originally intend for my side business to be connected to Click Bank but do you know if it would be easier just to use my EIN number for tax purposes? As the products I'll be promoting may not be connected with graphics, would I need a separate EIN number for affiliate marketing?

I appreciate any advice that you or anyone else could offer me?

    Cheers!

    Rich,

I don't know that there's a lot of difference in terms of difficulty - you can always apply for a new EIN for a new business if you're concerned about keeping your businesses separate, or you could use your SSN for your affiliate business.

Hi Owen, appreciate the feedback! Yeah, I think I'll probably just use my current EIN number, and operate my affiliate business as a division of my current business! I don't want to over complicate things, if I don't have to! Thanks again for your input!

    Cheers!

hi Owen i am south african does that mean i do not qualify to be an affiliate?

    Ernest,

When you sign up for an account, there's a dropdown for country. As long as your country is listed, you can sign up for an account.

Richard if you register a separate EIN it will establish business entity that can later be used as a partner to a incorporated business. See a lawyer or tax specialist with experience in incorporation to see if it's right for you.

    Waquar,

Take a look at the articles in the Understanding the Affiliate Role section. Those articles should point you in the right direction.

    Hi Owen,

I am a South African currently residing in France, I have just signed up for the clickbank account and would like to be an authorized affiliate to promote company products etc.

What steps do I need to take to become an authorized affiliate?

    Khangelani,

There isn't any additional authorization process. Once you have created your account, you can begin to promote products.

Different vendors have different commission rates, preferred tools, and ways of working with affiliates, though. Some vendors only want to work with trusted affiliates, while others work with new affiliates. You can find vendors by looking at the ClickBank marketplace.

Can we assume that a vendor is willing to work with new affiliates if I don't see that he's asking for us to apply? and he's just handing out a generic hoplink and reminding everyone to just insert their account nickname where the XXXX is?

    Thanks!

    Rochel,

Yes, plenty of vendors are willing to work with any affiliate. Some vendors only work with a set list of trusted affiliates, but they generally make that clear to other affiliates.

    Hi,
I am from Montreal, Canada. I just want to know do I have to provide information for tax purposes. Or do I have to provide any goverment issued ID or any kind of unique no.

    James,

Only US-based affiliates need to provide the taxpayer ID described on this page, so you don't need to provide it.

I have found a product that I would like to promote and sell, the name is the lost ways, I bought the product and like it very much, I believe I can market it and make good money. I have a business already, a tax id # and a bank account. What else do I need to do?

    Thanks

Can we purchas items from the vender, and sell them at our own store?

    Bill,

It sounds like your next step is to create a HopLink and use it to begin promoting the product.

When you sell a product on ClickBank, you have to certify that you have the necessary copyrights for the product, so you can't resell a product that you didn't create without the creator's permission. If you like a product from another vendor, you're better off promoting it as an affiliate.

I have an AppCoiner account for five days now, and I have wrote 8 app reviews. I have connected my Clickbank account to my AppCoiner account and I wonder when will this be paid and what is the problem?

    Ana,

You'll have to contact AppCoiner about getting paid for using their tool.

    Pal,

If you're not a citizen of the United States, you don't need to provide a Tax ID at all.

Does a US green card holder need to Provide their SS# or EIN for tax purpose?

    Thanks,

    Xuhan,

If your business is based in the US, then yes, you need to provide tax information. You can apply for an EIN for any business based in the US.

    Hi Owen,

I have a Canadian corporation.  Am I able to sign up as an affiliate using my corporation or does it have to be as an individual?

    Thanks,

    Ray,

Yes, you can supply your business information rather than your personal information when you're signing up.

    Todd,

I'd recommend filing a support ticket. They should be able to help you troubleshoot your issue.
