ClickBank Insights

ClickBank Insights is a tool that recommends products you could promote or use in upsells, based on your past sales and your customers' buying patterns.

The following subjects are covered in this article:

Overview

ClickBank Insights is automatically displayed in the dashboard for qualifying accounts. Accounts must meet a minimum sales amount so that ClickBank has enough data to provide useful recommendations. If your account has not yet had enough sales to display ClickBank Insights, it will display nothing for affiliate accounts, and display the Affiliate Finder for vendor accounts.

If you are a vendor, the ClickBank Insights diagram shows other vendors whose products your customers are likely to buy. If you are an affiliate, the diagram shows vendors whose products the customers you have referred are likely to buy. If you are both an affiliate and a vendor, both diagrams are displayed.

Here's an example of an account dashboard with ClickBank Insights:

This image shows the Dashboard tab of the ClickBank user interface with ClickBank Insights displayed on the right. The ClickBank Insights section displays two bubble charts, showing the related vendors with the highest opportunity values, and a set of more detailed information about the selected vendor. The displayed fields are described in more detail in the text on this page.

Each potential vendor has an Opportunity Value score, which factors in the number of shared customers, the conversion rate, and the average commission per sale. Although this score is a rough indicator, higher Opportunity Value scores should represent better opportunities.

Understanding the Display

The ClickBank Insights display shows a bubble chart of the relative Opportunity Values for the recommended vendors. The Opportunity Value is a guideline number that includes details such as the number of customers shared, the average amount of earnings per sale, and the vendor's conversion rates. The vendors displayed on the bubble chart are scaled according to their Opportunity Values, with larger circles representing a higher value. The vendor with the highest Opportunity Value is selected by default.

You can hover over bubbles to display the vendor nickname. You can also select a vendor in the bubble chart to display detailed information about the vendor, including their ClickBank Marketplace listing, description, category, hoplink, affiliate page link, average money per sale, and other Marketplace statistics. If you are already promoting the account, information about your affiliate activity for the account is also displayed. You can click the PROMOTE button to create hoplinks and begin promoting the account's products.

Data for ClickBank Insights is calculated and updated once a week to include your most recent sales activity and to ensure up-to-date recommendations.

NOTE – The Opportunity Value is calculated on an account-by-account basis. If you have more than one linked account, you may see other accounts you own as recommendations in the feature. See Hiding Accounts for information about hiding accounts that aren't relevant to you.

Vendor Accounts

Vendor accounts will display a bubble chart with recommended vendors whose products your customers are likely to purchase. Customers who have purchased your product are also likely to purchase products from the vendors listed in the display.

Here is an example of a vendor ClickBank Insights display:

This image shows the Insights display for a vendor. The top section shows a bubble chart of the vendors with the highest opportunity scores. The bottom section contains information about the selected vendor, including description and sales statistics, and a promote button that can be used to generate promotional links.

Affiliate Accounts

Affiliate accounts will display a bubble chart with recommended vendors whose products your referred customers are likely to purchase. Customers who have purchased a product that you promoted as an affiliate are also likely to purchase products from the vendors listed in the display.

Here is an example of an affiliate ClickBank Insights display:

The bottom section contains information about the selected vendor, including description and sales statistics, and a promote button that can be used to generate promotional links.

Vendor and Affiliate Accounts

Accounts with both vendor and affiliate activity will see two bubble charts. One is based on their activity as a vendor and the other is based on their activity as an affiliate.

Here is an example of a vendor and affiliate ClickBank Insights display:

This image shows the Insights display for an account with vendor and affiliate activity. The top section shows two bubble charts, showing the vendors with the highest opportunity scores based on the account's Vendor Activity and Affiliate Activity. The bottom section contains information about the selected vendor, including description and sales statistics, and a promote button that can be used to generate promotional links.

Exclusions

The following categories of accounts are not recommended through ClickBank Insights:

  • Accounts with a Quality Management rating of Unacceptable (red).
  • Accounts that are not listed in the Marketplace.
  • Accounts that have opted out (see Opting Out for more information).

If an account is excluded for any of these three reasons, their recommendation will be removed from your display within 24 hours.

Hiding Accounts

In some cases, the accounts displayed in ClickBank Insights may not be relevant to you, either because you own them, because you already promote them, or because you have no interest in promoting them.

When you select a vendor in the bubble chart, you can click Hide This Vendor to remove them from the display and replace them with another relevant vendor. If you want to see a vendor that you've hidden, click Unhide All.

Opting Out

If you do not want to be recommended to other users through ClickBank Insights, you can opt out.

  1. Log in to your ClickBank account.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click My Site.
  4. Find the ClickBank Insights section and click Edit.
  5. Click Exclude this account in ClickBank Insights.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Opting out only affects the current account. If you have multiple accounts, you must opt out for each account separately.

Would I get paid when I create traffic on other websites with clickbank products without making sales?

    Bismark,

No. You don't get paid for traffic by itself; you only get paid when traffic that you drive leads to sales.

Owen, from a vendor point of view, are the affiliates receiving your message able to see your spotlight info if your product isn't yet activated?

    Leviticus,

Vendors must have at least one active product to have a Marketplace listing and a displayed spotlight.

    Hasani,

You earn money either by selling products that you create, or by promoting other people's products in exchange for a commission.

    Maurice,

"Account ID" probably refers to your account nickname, which you use to log in to your ClickBank account. See the Account Nickname article for more information.

    Bright,

As an affiliate, you only earn a commission for each sale you drive; you're not paid for traffic that doesn't generate sales.

    Areeka,

As a vendor, you can sell a variety of physical or digital products.

As an affiliate, you can promote any product you want. You can take a look at the Marketplace for information about what products are available on the platform.

    Michael,

If you're an affiliate, you can promote products in a variety of ways - creating your own site, using social media, or using paid ads. It's hard to say which one is best, since each one has pros and cons that vary based on your size, budget, niche, and other factors.

    Marlus,

If you've already verified that your HopLinks are working, then it's a question of what portion of your traffic is converting into customers. This isn't an exact science, but the Why Do I have Hops but no sales? article provides some guidance on where to go from here.
